Welcome to the blog of author and screenwriter Louis Weinberger! As a thriller writer, I’m thrilled you are reading this and joining me here, it’s a pleasure. Please follow and don’t be shy to introduce yourself.
Do you remember the first movie you saw that blew you away? When I first saw “The Exorcist,” it impacted me so much. I knew at that point I wanted to be a screenwriter. Though I went to college seeking the criminal justice field, I felt compelled to write and to write for film. I took screenwriting classes and I read everything I could get my hands on. Then I wrote over 10 screenplays and some of them did well in several screenwriting contests.
Finally, I took two of my favorite screenplays, one that was written before the movie 8MM but resembles it quite well and another erotic crime thriller that was highly praised, and I merged them into one, with it becoming an erotic detective thriller featuring a female detective. It’s my dream, in fact, for this female detective to be transferred to the screen and as remembered in film history as Clarice Starling was in “Silence of the Lambs.”
That screenplay that I merged is now called “Into the Devil’s Reach” and I wrote a novel from it, also called Into the Devil’s Reach (and there is also a graphic novel, but more on that later), which is being published this November through my publishing company, RenRob Publishing, and with the help of some great people who’ve been working hard on the project, the horror/thriller author Brian Moreland and Erin Al-Mehairi, my book manager, publicist, and owner of Hook of a Book Media and Publicity, and her team including Tim Busbey.
There will be more in this blog about the book, including a cover reveal, as well as informative and fun articles on film, books, screenwriting, my interests, and other authors and those involved in film. If you’d like to be on the blog, just email Erin at weinbergerpublicist@outlook.com.
So, what was a film that impacted you? I’d love to hear.
